When I was being released from my mission by my Stake President, he casually mentioned that he had two eligible daughters who were away at college and he showed a picture of each of them to me. I did not even remotely imagine at that time that four years later I would be marrying Marcie, one of the girls in the picture.

Marcie is truly the perfect girl for me. She is outgoing, and I am more reserved and shy. She was the perfect girl for me to date because she could talk and I could listen. If Marcie were shy, we probably would not have developed a relationship. Marcie was and is still a fun person to be around.

Two years before I met Marcie, about 2003, I noticed that something was missing in my life. I also felt that changes were coming down the road. Late at night after an Institute volleyball or basketball game, I would lie in my bed and think that there was someone out there for me and that in the next few years we would be brought together. My feelings were correct, because it was not too long after I had those consistent feelings that I met Marcie.

I cannot fully express what a joy she is to be around. From the day that we were married and moved into our home, Marcie has decorated our home with her own cute style. With each new season and holiday she decorates the house with its own theme. The inside of the home is very inviting and relaxing.
Marcie loves clothing. Her favorite store is H&M. She shops at H&M as often as the family budget allows. She dresses in wonderful outfits and she always looks very professional and well put together. This is a woman with style. On the other hand, I am usually content with sweatpants or basketball shorts and a white T-shirt. She is working on me though, whenever she shops she tries to find a shirt or sweater that would make me look not as plain. When she can't find clothes for herself, she then turns her creativity and energy to my wardrobe.
Marcie has the coolest expressions of anyone that I know. Her love for drama and theater in her teenage years has spilled over into adulthood. One example of this is that when I iron my shirt each morning I will sing the theme from "It's a small world", the Disneyland ride, and when I get to the "after all" part, Marcie then answers me with "bum badum dum", which is the transition from one part of the song to the next. At other times I will walk down the hall and say "all hail King Sam", and Marcie will say "hail" in a cute high pitched voice. Furthermore, whenever Marcie has some hot news from school to tell me about one of her students or something that happened at school, she usually starts the conversation with "OH my gosh Sam, you will not believe what so and so did today" and then proceed to tell me the whole story with full body language and hand motions involved.
Marcie is also a talented person. Not only is she an excellent student and teacher, but she is also a great cook and an excellent pianist. I love to lie on the living room floor and listen to her practice the hymns and other songs on a Sunday afternoon or evening. I get my own live concert from time to time.
As far as her cooking goes, I have realized that every time I buy her a kitchen appliance or item, I am blessed with great food in the weeks and months to follow. One year for an anniversary gift, we bought a Kitchen Aide mixer with some attachments for Marcie. Wow! I feasted on pies and cookies and new recipes just about every week because she now had a mixer that made baking and preparing food more convenient. To this day, she still uses her Kitchen Aide several times a month and the mixer is usually busy just about every day during her Christmas break.
Lastly, Marcie loves to travel. She loves England and Europe. We plan on returning back to those places for trips in the future. We would also love to see other parts of the U.S. and we can't wait to take some kids along to let them see the world also.
This girl is wonderful!
